We had such a fantastic trip to Hawaii it’s hard to believe it’s over already. First part of the trip was on the “Garden Isle” of Kauai (the home of the original HAI). We stayed at the most northern tip of the island in Haena. It was so lush, remote and quite. We rented a house that was beautifully appointed and right across the street from the beach. I definitely have grill envy after cooking on their Weber grill…who knew there was a searing option.
Kaui was a chosen destination this year as it was the 10th anniversary of our commitment ceremony so we wanted to head back to the scene of the crime and renew our vows. Our very good friends (Annie and Jenean) came with us to Kauai and helped make the vow renewal and Korey’s bday celebration that much more special.
Kauai Highlights Included:
- Wave watching at Tunnels Beach
- Boogie Boarding and Body Surfing at Hanalei Bay (aka the beach George Clooney jogged in Descendants)
- Korey’s Bday Dinner at Bar Acuda
- Hiking the Kalalau Trail
- Swimming and Snorkeling at Ke’e Beach
- Turtle watching in Poipu at Brennecke’s Beach
After a week in Kauai we headed over to Maui for a little “luxury time” at the Grand Wailea. The Grand did not disappoint. Pool and beach side relaxing, water slides, swim up bar, fantastic dinners and sunsets to die for. It was the perfect topper to a fabulous Hawaiian vacation. Not to mention we had the special bonus of seeing Cindy and Mick while in Maui for an amazing dinner at Amasia.
Now back to real life until our next tropical adventure (in January :)).
Below is a little slide show with some of the highlights of our trip.
