Today we had an unexpected visit from an Arboreal Salamander “Sal” (named after one of my favorite pizza places back east). Korey found Sal catching a few rays in the pool, he wasn’t on a noodle but it did kind of look like he might have had a mini Mai Tai in hand.
Needless to say we were a little surprised to find a salamander hanging out in the yard so I did a bit of research and he is an Aboreal Salamander native to Northern California. The most interesting thing is that Sal not only likes little dips in the pool but he’s also a tree hugger, spending time climbing trees.
After a quick diversion of the dogs, Korey placed Sal in a safe place in the yard so he can get back to hanging out with his family.
We wish Sal all the best but hope he doesn’t think he has some new exclusive pools pass.
